We have a natural right to make use of our pens as of our tongues, at our peril, risk and hazard.”
~ Voltaire….

Been paid commission, pay my own expenses most of my life. Independent business owners know why they need to get out of bed every morning – nobody else is gonna pay your bills! The expenses come whether you are there or not… How can we help employees get this motivated? - allow them to perform and if they do reward them. It sets an example. That’s the cycle of success – get there – fail. Get up again. Fail. Get up again. Fail. Get up again – try something completely different. Fail. Get up again.
-my boss might set sales goals for me…that’s his goal. What is my goal? To get rewarded when I help people. I don’t set a financial goal – it follows when I do the right thing, and I have to be able to do it my way.
-what is your employees goal? what makes them feel rewarded at the end of the day? Most often, its not the money. Seriously. High paid CDA probably not going back to her old boss because her ideas for improvement are taken as sarcasm on management skills. I know 5 offices that would LOVE to have an employee who cares enough to say something.
-goal wasn’t to get a job that paid 20 bucks an hour, if it was they will not find happiness. Nobody works for money, cause it just doesn’t make you truly happy. Those working for money will never be happy or truly make the boss happy.
-ownership of the job, I’m not saying control, ownership of the job means respect for the values and understanding the rewards come for those with a passion. Hire the right people. Wait if you have to. Take control.
- the best person I could possibly hire would be myself. The worst person I could hire would be me because ‘me’ would learn how to be excellent and then do it for myself….then ‘I’ would start again. Do I want to hire someone with as much ambition as me? You bet!
